WHEN MONEY MET CULTURE

Cheddar DVD wasn't just another street release. It was
the magazine of the streets — the place where hip hop's
biggest names came to be documented in full color,
volume after volume.
From Volume 1 to Volume 13, Cheddar captured the moment
when hip hop became an industry. When the rappers became
moguls. When the streets started counting money in
millions.
Rick Ross on the come up. T.I. before the Grand Hustle
empire. Slim Thug from Houston taking over. Jim Jones
running Dipset. Ludacris in his prime. French Montana
breaking out of the Bronx.
Cheddar documented it all — magazine style. Glossy covers.
Hard interviews. The culture's first true print-meets-video
hybrid.
Most of these issues are gone now. Out of print.
Disappeared from the internet. Lost to time.
Hood Box Office, in partnership with the Wendy Black
Foundation, is preserving the complete Cheddar archive.
Every volume. Every interview. Every cover. Every moment.

This is hip hop's money era.
This is the magazine of the streets.
This is the archive.

They built the lab. We built the museum.”
